Time well spent...

Time has been well spent in Corpus Christi before I head off to Seattle (tomorrow!).
Wilbert went swimming for the first time. He does not like it at all.

For about 15 of my 29 years, I have wanted to take a picture of this sign on the drive from Corpus to San Antonio. Thanks to Melissa's mad brake skills, we managed to stop in time to finally take care of this crucial must-do.

Mels and Wilbert have bonded.

Jenn was in Senegal with me and is headed overseas for another 2 years. I was able to see her for a day in San Antonio, where we went to La Madeleine, a fabulous French-ish cafe. Jenn introduced me to La Madeleine a few years ago and life hasn't been the same since.

Zoe is Wilbert's first doggie friend (see May 2006 posts for a refresher). Since I've always been partial to Westies and Zoe is particularly precious, I took Wilbert to the O'Callaghans for several dates with Zoe.

Some of my heart friends in Corpus: Beth, Esther and Melissa
(Esther! You are officially on the blog now! :)

Could we be sisters or what? Katy, me and Caitlin--I love these ladies!

It's gettin' fo' realz, yo!

So that's my ebonics way of saying that the move to Seattle is finally right around the corner, and it's becoming very real.

I am leaving Corpus Christi in just 9 days and will head to Denton to pick up my friend Marcy who's making the LONG drive with me. I'll get to go to The Village and home group one more time and see friends from Denton. Then, it's 3 days on the road to arrive in Seattle on September 1st!

Ways that the move is seeming fo' realz yo...

**I just filled out my change of address form.
**I'm talking with my roommate about getting the key from her.
**I bought packing materials so I can ship some of my stuff.
**I'm doing my "last time to..." stuff in Corpus.
**The address on my resume is finally in Seattle.
**Friends in Corpus have decided to do a goodbye party THIS WEEKEND before I go.
**I've started having major separation anxiety b/c I have to leave Wilbert in Texas until January. Sniff, sniff.
